One of the things I will really miss about Spain, are all the little festivals that happen throughout the year. I don't even really know the history behind most of these festivals, some are religious and others are just a cultural celebration. Even in the small suburb of Esplugues we can enjoy all kinds of festivities right in our own neighbourhood. Last October we saw the Parade of the Giants through Esplugues. Each community sponsors their own giants or gegants in Catalan. On special occasions the gegants come out to dance to music through the streets.
